If you are interested in the IB Candidate School at Conklin for a student currently in Kindergarten through 6th grade, please complete the interest form by clicking on the button below, under 'non-lottery application.'

How Seats Are Filled

Seats are distributed across all RPS elementary attendance zones through a lottery. The lottery is conducted in April for students who applied and whose parent/guardian attended an orientation. Notification of lottery results is sent by US postal mail after the lottery has taken place.

Sibling priority is granted to students residing in the same household as those already enrolled in the program (Kindergarten through 5th grade). However, sibling preference does not extend to applicants for the upcoming year whose only sibling is currently enrolled in 6th grade. Additionally, families residing in the Northwest Quadrant (zoned for McIntosh, Welsh, and West View) are given priority in the lottery placement for their incoming kindergartener

As limited seats become available, they are filled from eligible students on the interest list. Interest form responses are also considered. Families interested in the IB program at Conklin after open application dates are closed may fill out an interest form. Interest forms are time stamped, and an interest list is maintained in this order.

Waitlist

Any students who don’t receive a seat in the lottery are given a random place on the kindergarten waitlist. Seats will be filled based on availability.

Non-Lottery Application (Interest Form)

Current kindergarten through 6th grade students attending a RPS 205 school or zoned to a RPS 205 school submit their interest via an online interest form. Interest lists for incoming 1st through 6th grade students are sorted by grade level and time stamped by submission date. Seats will be filled based on availability.
