How do I Apply for the IB program?

We welcome students from all over the district who are interested in an International Baccalaureate education.

Kindergarten Lottery

A kindergarten lottery is held yearly in January to early March.

If you are interested in the IB program at Conklin for a student currently in Kindergarten through 4th grade, please complete the interest form by clicking on the button below, under 'non-lottery application.'

How Seats are Filled

A computerized, random lottery is run in April for students who applied for the lottery and whose parent/guardian attended an orientation. Sibling priority is given to students living in the same home as students who are already enrolled in the program (pre-kindergarten through 4th grade). Sibling preference does not apply to applicants for the upcoming year whose only sibling is currently enrolled in 5th grade.

As limited seats become available, they are filled from eligible students on the interest list. Interest form responses are also considered. Families interested in the IB program at Conklin after open application dates are closed may fill out an interest form. Interest forms are time stamped, and an interest list is maintained in this order.

Waitlist

Any students who don’t receive a seat in the lottery are given a random place on the kindergarten waitlist. Seats will be filled based on availability.

Non-Lottery Application

Current kindergarten through 4th grade students attending a RPS 205 school or zoned to a RPS 205 school submit their interest via an online interest form. Interest lists for incoming 1st through 5th grade students are sorted by grade level and time stamped by submission date. Seats will be filled based on availability.
